Kirsten Schuder
Kirsten Schuder, M. S., is a mental health counselor, Vice President of the American Emotional Wellness Organization, a writer, an author, an editor, and a literary agent.
Mental Health Counseling
Kirsten began her counseling career in a methadone clinic in 1995. She graduated with her Mental Health Counseling degree from Walden University. In 2005, she moved to a similar position to Books for Charity's sister organization, The American Emotional Wellness (AEWO) organization.
Kirsten's responsibilities at the AEWO include:
- Grant writing
- Producing literature for clients
- Developing different wellness programs
- Creating and holding group counseling programs
She was also responsible for running sessions for different groups of people, such as people who are grieving, people who are recently disabled, and people who are experiencing clinical depression. Kirsten has experience in counseling in a wide variety of issues, including:
- Drug addiction
- Depression
- Divorce
- Domestic violence
- Grieving
- Personality disorders
- Self-esteem
- Family dynamics and issues
Kirsten also created a library of seminars and webinars for the AEWO. She is in charge of seminar and webinar creation, writing, and editing accompanying materials.
Writing and Editing Career
Kirsten is equally adept at writing and editing. Kirsten and her writing partner are regularly published in a variety of sports magazines for athletic performance and the mental game of sports. As a nonfiction author, she has written hundreds of widely quoted articles on mental health, parenting, and family (including almost 400 posts under the title "The Happy Family Blog" for Lovetoknow.com), some of which have appeared in books and international academic journals.
