Karen Frazier

Karen Frazier is a freelance writer with more than 25 years of experience writing for an array of publications. She is the author of many cookbooks, including The Hashimoto's 4-Week Plan, Nutrition FactsThe Gastroparesis Cookbook, Acid Reflux Escape Plan, The Easy Acid Reflux Cookbook, and The Quick and Easy IBS Relief Cookbook. She has specific expertise in topics like energy healing, sound healing, dream interpretation, neurolinguistic programming (NLP), hypnotherapy, meditation, alternative health care, and nutrition and fitness.

Energy Healing

Karen is a medical intuitive and an intuitive energy healer. She works with various vibrational healing modalities, including crystal healing, Tibetan sound healing, traditional sound healing, metaphysical healing, and Reiki. She has studied other modalities, as well, including polarity therapy and Quantum Touch®. She is an Usui Ryoho Reiki Master-Teacher (Shinpiden), Raku Kei Reiki Master, Karuna Ki Reiki Master, Crystal Reiki Master, and Animal Reiki Practitioner who has taught and attuned hundreds of Reiki practitioners. She teaches a regular series of Reiki, crystals, and energy healing classes in the Pacific Northwest and online. She is also a member of the International Association of Reiki Professionals.

Additionally, Karen is the author of several books about energy healing including Reiki Healing for Beginners, Crystals for HealingThe Little Book of Energy Healing Techniques, The Crystal Alchemist, and An Introduction to Crystal Grids. She also writes a monthly energy healing column for Paranormal Underground Magazine, and some of her writings about affirmations, visualization, and the Law of Attraction have been featured in the popular Chicken Soup for the Soul series. Karen holds a PhD in Metaphysics from the University of Sedona, and she is currently working to earn her DD (Doctor of Divinity) in Spiritual Healing. Her dissertation research focuses on the use of sound to bring about spiritual, emotional, and physical healing. She also writes regularly about energy healing on her blog and on her social media, including Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook.

Feng Shui, Meditation, Divination, and Horoscopes

Karen has taken multiple specialized courses in feng shui, I Ching, tarot, palmistry, astrology, numerology, and the bagua, and she regularly uses principles and practices of each of these in her work as an intuitive energy healer and Reiki Master-Teacher. She also includes feng shui, numerology, divination, and astrology instruction in her crystals and energy healing classes and books. Karen also teaches meditation classes and provides meditation coaching to her students and healing partners, offering assistance in Eastern and Western meditation techniques.

Dream Interpretation

Karen has written a Dream Interpretation column for Paranormal Underground Magazine for several years. In her column, Karen interprets dreams that readers write in. She also teaches dream interpretation courses in the Portland, Oregon region, and she is the author of The Dream Interpretation Handbook.

Nutrition, Fitness, and Dance

Karen is a nutrition and fitness expert. She spent ten years as a personal trainer, fitness instructor, bodybuilding coach, diet advisor, and bodybuilder maintaining American Council on Exercise (ACE) personal trainer and fitness instructor certifications. She regularly took classes and workshops to further her knowledge of exercise and nutrition. Over the years, she coached numerous clients in exercise and diet to help them reach their goals for weight, health, and overall fitness.

Currently, Karen's preferred forms of exercise and dance are those that integrate mind, body, and spirit. She is a Nia White Belt who also engages in yoga practice. She also participates in tribal belly dance and hoop dance, and she hikes and runs a few times a week when weather permits.

Personal Experience With Celiac Disease

Diagnosed in her early 40s with celiac disease and an acute dairy allergy, Karen understands how to maintain a gluten-free and dairy-free household and diet. After significant research, Karen discovered the best way for her to eat was an organic, seasonal, grain-free, minimally processed diet. In her cookbooks and on her blog, she helps readers follow elimination diets to find a way of eating that works best for their own unique health picture. Karen also has substantial experience in natural health, spending several years early in her career serving as a patient education coordinator for a natural health clinic.
